5月17日，中山石岐街道基邊村、員峰村舉行“起龍”儀式。“起龍”，將深埋河涌淤泥中的龍舟“起”出，修繕后用于端午節(jié)的龍舟比賽或巡游。這也意味著新一年龍舟時(shí)間的開始。

Dragon-boat-raising Ceremony
On?May?17th，Jibian and Yuanfeng villages in Shiqi?sub-district of Zhongshan held the Qilong Ceremony. Qilong is the traditional ritual of retrieving dragon boats submerged in riverbeds, and?restoring them for Dragon Boat Festival races or parades. This ritual also kicks off the dragon boat racing season of the year.
